Assessment Description . Length: 1500 – 2000 words Introduction: For assessment Task 3, students will work as individuals to produce a critical essay.

This critical essay will be based on three of the topics discussed during the semester.

Scenario: A well designed position description should clearly articulate the individual’s role and performance expectations. Research and critically analyse how this will assist you as a manager to create a culture of teamwork and performance excellence, including how recognition and reward management influence behaviour. Presentation: This is a critical essay therefore no contents pages and no use of headings. In your essay you need to:  Define key terms and how they relate to one another  You will conduct in-depth research focusing on material covered in lectures 5, 8 and 10  Establish a strong connection between the role of a position description and how this assists in creating an organisational culture which improves performance.  Consider the challenges that may impact on success in this process. You must use a minimum of 14 references:  Text books: The prescribed text and at least 4 other text books  8 different academic journal articles  1 other source of your choice: Blog, newspaper, magazine or other Internet source  No more than 1 reference may be general Internet based sources.  Wikipedia is not to be used and does not count as an academic reference.
