Design and implement effective teaching strategies that are responsive to the local community and cultural setting, linguistic background, and histories of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

 

Details of task: You are required to develop a portfolio of evidence of 2,300 words that demonstrates your pedagogical approach to effectively engage with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students and/or strategies for teaching non-Indigenous students about Indigenous histories, cultures, and lifeway.

 

This should include:

  • My pedagogical and philosophical approach (700 words)
  • My approach to engaging with the families and caregivers of Indigenous students (700Words)
  • My approach to developing the Koorie Education Learning Plan (700 Words)
  • A reflective piece about how I have developed my culturally appropriate teaching style

(300 words)

Marking Criteria

Has the student provided evidence that they can demonstrate effective strategies for teaching Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students and/or strategies for teaching non-Indigenous students about Indigenous histories, cultures, and lifeways?

Has the student demonstrated skill, knowledge and understanding in their pedagogical approach?
